Rumor has it that Motorola - which has already been acquired by Lenovo - is exhausting all efforts to keep details about their upcoming flagship smartphone. But it appears that the company was not able to do so as a recent leak has revealed some key information about the Moto X 2015.

The leaked image, which can be found on GSM Arena, shows that the upcoming Moto X 2015, codenamed XT1542, will be sporting a 5.2-inch 4K Quad HD AMOLED display with a 1,440 x 2,560 pixel native resolution. This means that Motorola's upcoming flagship smartphone will be at par with the LG G4 and Samsung Galaxy S6, which, in turn, are the flagship devices of their respective tech brands.

The Moto X 2015 could also run on the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, sport a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 mobile chipset that will come with 4 GB of RAM, and either a 32 GB or 64 GB for its memory storage, added GSM Arena.

Meanwhile, a leak from Total Tech, as seen in a YouTube video, reveals that the unit will come with stereo speakers and a Type C USB port.

For its cameras, it will feature one on both sides: a 16-megapixel main snapper on its back – one that has a built-in OIS or optical image stabilization and clear pixel technology – and a 5-megapixel camera on its front. Moreover, it will also be powered by a 3,280 mAh battery under its hood.

These rumored specifications make the Motorola Moto X 2015 a device to watch out for since Motorola has clearly applied some internal changes, taking their place as a credible competitor in the tech market, observed Know Your Mobile.

According to the report, fans have the Moto G and the Moto X line of gadgets to thank for since these devices have reflected Motorola’s newly implemented "no-nonsense approach" when it comes to Android units. Their interestingly neat design, near-stock Android, and very affordable price, along with an amazing set of specs, have impressed consumers and reviewers alike.

Unfortunately, the device’s official release date has not been announced yet. However, since the leaked image seemed to have come from a test unit, it is assumed that the device is already in its development stages. Motorola just might unveil the Moto X 2015 in September, around the same time as last year's release.
