The Los Angeles Lakers will look beyond consensus top-two picks Jahlil Okafor and Karl-Anthony Towns as they are set to bring in Emmanuel Mudiay for a workout.

According to RealGM, Mudiay has agreed to show his skill to the Lakers on Saturday, which will be one of the few workouts that he will undergo before the 2015 NBA Draft on June 25 in New York.

The Lakers own the second overall pick in the draft and are being linked to Okafor and Towns since securing the pick after the lottery last month. The Lakers are leaning towards drafting Okafor or Towns -- depending on who will be available -- but are reportedly intrigued by Mudiay's potential.

Mudiay played high school basketball in Texas and committed to SMU, but the 19-year-old eventually decided to turn professional in China. The 6-foot-5 guard played in 12 games in the Chinese Basketball Association, where he averaged 18 points despite being slowed down by an ankle injury during the season.

Aside from the Lakers, the Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly convinced Mudiay to work out for them on June 20 or at an earlier date. The promising guard agreed after the Timberwolves told him that they will seriously consider him when they make the first overall pick in the upcoming draft.

Sources told RealGM that the Timberwolves presented a vision of team that will be built around him, 2014 first overall pick Andrew Wiggins, and 2014 13th overall pick Zach LaVine.

NBA champion coach Larry Brown, who recruited Mudiay to SMU, also told ESPN that the Congo native will also visit the Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks, who own the third and fourth pick in the draft, respectively.

Brown, who said that his SMU squad could have competed for the national title if Mudiay decided to play for them, expressed confidence that teams will be impressed with the young prospect, including the Knicks and their fans.

"I truly believe Emmanuel has a chance to be one of the great young point guards in the NBA, and I don't just say that lightly because I have a tremendous amount of respect for the guys who are playing that position," Brown said. "I think the way Knicks fans respect the game and appreciate good basketball the way they do, they'd love a player like Emmanuel."
