Patrick "McDreamy" Dempsey, former star of the medical drama, "Grey's Anatomy," has officially bid goodbye to his Malibu home.

Dempsey, who portrayed Dr. Derek Shepherd in the series for more than 10 years, has sold his luxury estate over the asking price of $14.5 million. The racing car aficionado has closed the deal for $15 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. The 49-year-old actor reportedly bought it for $7 million in 2009 together with his now soon-to-be ex-wife, Jillian Fink.

The Malibu home is an esteemed work of the talented Canadian architect, Frank Gehry, whose fabulous designs are featured in Architectural Digest. The two-story luxury home was first commissioned for a famous artist, the abstract painter and geometrician, Ron Davis. The modern tin house, which was constructed in 1972, reportedly used corrugated metal as part of its building materials.

The 5,500-square-foot waterfront home has several impressive features such as soaring ceilings, bright ambiance, wooden flooring and an open floor area. The celebrity home that speaks of grandeur includes three bedrooms, three and a half baths, a family room and an office.

The gated Dempsey property resting on 3.2 acres of California land also boasts stunning ocean views. Outdoors, the next owners can enjoy fun activities like wall climbing. The estate also has a swimming pool with spa and an expansive lawn. A four-stall barn also stands on its lush grounds.

Realtor.com specifically noted of its inspiring garden features that hopefully, the new owners will appreciate. There is an aesthetic Zen bowl style on an outdoor fountain providing a chic appeal.

Although the Malibu home is a perfect vacation destination, Dempsey will not be tied to the estate. Aside from his ongoing divorce proceedings, it seems Dempsey has opted to pursue his love for speed and car racing adventures.

"I definitely love racing... I love the camaraderie and the fellowship. I think the challenge is with oneself and not so much your fellow competitors, necessarily...I just love it. It's really stimulating both physically and mentally," the actor told People.

The good news is, Hollywood won't miss him so much.

"I'm not retiring from acting," Dempsey confirmed.
