Twitter announced Friday that it is testing out new features to help users engage with products and places.

With product and place pages and collections, multiple tweets and information will be stored inside one master tweet that can be expanded to learn more about items and places.

Twitter released the buy button on its tweets last fall, Tech Crunch reports, but that does not necessarily give users all the information they need to make a purchase. With product and place pages, users get more details on products and pages.

Twitter explains how the product and places pages works with the Andy Weir book "The Martian." The original tweet will show an image of the book along with a brief description. Click on the picture and more relevant tweets and information about the book will appear. There will be links to buy the book as well as pictures and more information. Even news updates and popular content will appear in these additional tweets.

Twitter is currently testing limited products and places with its product and places pages.

The future of product and places pages could help tourists explore new cities. If someone is taking their first trip to New York, they will be able to go to the New York places page and find information on attractions, popular tweets, pictures, maps and more.

The product and place collections give people and brands an opportunity to share their products and places to their followers. Users will be able to look at collections of tweets from their favorite influencers on Twitter about the things they care about.

Twitter has invited a select few individuals and companies to test out the product and place collections.
