Actor Marcc Rose has been chosen to play Tupac Shakur in the highly anticipated N.W.A. movie "Straight Outta Compton," and he looks just like the fallen rap icon, reports MTV.

Ice Cube first revealed that production was underway for the movie in an Instagram happy birthday wish to his late friend on June 16.

"Happy birthday to the homie Tupac. Shooting the Tupac scene for Straight Outta Compton today, the stars are aligned..." Ice Cube wrote beneath a picture of himself with Tupac and John Singleton, director of "Poetic Justice" and "Boyz N The Hood."

"The Predator" rapper's post confirms that the movie, which explores N.W.A's formative years, will have at least one scene involving 2Pac.

The actor's resemblance to the Death Row rapper is eerie; side-by-side comparisons show the two men share almond-shaped eyes and similar facial features and jawline.

Not much is known presently about Rose, including his age, acting credits and more. His Twitter account lists ICM Partners as his talent agency.

Fans eagerly awaiting the movie, which is scheduled for release Aug. 14, can watch Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, MC Ren and DJ Yella perform during a reunion at this year's BET Awards on June 27. These original members will also star in the film.

Versions of Snoop Dogg, Suge Knight and Warren G are expected in the film as well.

Universal Pictures released this plot summary for "Straight Outta Compton":

"In 1987, five young men, using brutally honest rhymes and hardcore beats, put their frustration and anger about life in the most dangerous place in America into the most powerful weapon they had: their music. Taking us back to where it all began, "Straight Outta Compton" tells the true story of how these cultural rebels-armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent-stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world's most dangerous group, N.W.A. And as they spoke the truth that no one had before and exposed life in the hood, their voice ignited a social revolution that is still reverberating today."
