Christopher Meloni, the star who portrayed the role of detective Elliot Stabler in "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," has decided to cut the selling price of his New York condominium unit.

The 54-year old actor, who also appeared on the TV series "Surviving Jack," has relisted his Manhattan apartment for $8.95 million, The Wall Street Journal reported. Meloni bought the property he shares ownership with wife Sherman a decade ago for only $5.45 million, noted the outlet, citing public real estate records. He initially offered it on the market for $12 million in 2012, according to the New York Post.

Although Meloni is selling the celebrity condominium, the home of the actor holds a special place in his heart.

"I will never forget that moment as long as I live. It felt like that clichéd moment -- you've finally made it," the actor told the Journal, as he remembered buying it while filming his highly successful NBC's detective "Law & Order" series.

Property hunters may find why living in the luxury apartment could be the lifestyle they are looking for.

The 3,000-square-foot Manhattan unit is a lovely dwelling place that has the prestige of being showcased in the Architectural Digest magazine, noted the Post. The high-profile abode reportedly features three bedrooms, including a master suite equipped with five closets, a huge foyer, a formal dining room, and a gourmet kitchen for convenient cooking and dining.

Photos of the home, which were featured on Business Insider in May 2012, showcases several artistic and aesthetic furnishings ranging from unique figurines or decorations to colorful paintings hanging on the walls.

Vibrant colors and white paint create a lively theme for the home. Bright colors on the walls fills it with life while white on the ceilings make the already high 10-foot ceilings look even taller than they already are.

The Manhattan unit, located on the upper level of the high-rise condo, also offers wonderful views of Central Park and the New York city skyline. During the day, the spanning glass panels let natural light enter, creating a bright and vibrant ambiance for the living room. During the night, the city glows like no other with the large picture windows capturing the scenery, providing a romantic setting for the new owners.
