Amazon did it again?

The online retailer, which has been known for accidentally leaking some products before release dates are even announced, reportedly posted Grand Theft Auto 5 for PC on its European websites.

Interestingly enough, Amazon's accidental leaks have usually ended up being accurate. As Luke Carmeli said at IGN, "Whilst this could easily be another mistake, Amazon France has previous form in accurately leaking game details before publishers were ready to reveal them. To date, its list of scalps include Call of Duty: Black Ops II, the Killzone Trilogy and the European-only Assassin's Creed Anthology."

Rumors have been swirling about a potential GTA 5 PC release ever since the game was initially released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November of last year. In addition to the growing rumors about a PC release, gamers have been anxiously awaiting a possible announcement about a next-gen release for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Despite the rumors that have been circulating around the gaming world for quite some time now, Rockstar Games has yet to make any announcements about a possible release.

However, this is not entirely unexpected. Grand Theft Auto releases only come once every several years -- unlike other game series such as Call of Duty -- and the PC release has historically been after the initial release. The PC version for the previous release, GTA 4, was seven months after the initial launch. Rockstar Games still has plenty of time to release it and it is still right on schedule in accordance with the older releases, so it is likely to happen within the next several months at the latest.
