When "Magic Mike XXL" star Joe Manganiello sat down with Haute Living to discuss his latest film, he also dished on his relationship with Colombian "Modern family" star Sofia Vergara, revealing that the two would not be making films together thanks to Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez.

"I gave her the script and was like, 'Please read this. It's such a good part for you and it's amazing for me,'" said Manganiello. "And she said, 'No, I'm not going to make a Gigli' and kind of threw it on the ground. We get along so well together; I'm so lucky to have found that right person for me, and I know she feels the same way. We're really good with each other. Why risk f-ing that up?"

"Gigli" is the film credited with contributing to the breakup of Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez back in 2003. The film was a box office and critical flop and was so disastrous that Affleck, who recently announced that he and wife of 10 years Jennifer Garner are divorcing, told GQ Magazine in 2012 that it still haunted him.

Manganiello also dished about his first date with Vergara, in which he flew from Los Angeles to New Orleans to see her, and explained how the "Hot Pursuit" star tried pushing him away.

"Our first date was her giving me every reason why it would never work out," he reveals. "Like, 'You're too young, you're an actor, you're this, you're that,' and she was just doing it to hear herself say it. She was trying to talk herself out of going there."

Regardless of the early struggles and the short whirlwind romance, the actor said he can't wait to marry Vergara, who he recently celebrated his one-year anniversary with.

"On a personal level, I can't wait to get married and start a family. It's something that we talked about very early on," he told Haute Living. "I think Sofia and I are similar in our beliefs and core values, which makes [our relationship] work."
