"Suits" continues to be one of the most popular shows on TV and USA is banking on that continuing to be the case after ordering a sixth season.

The renewal comes a week after the fifth season premiered and obtained 3.4 million viewers, according to Nielsen's ratings. It also comes after the season obtained rave reviews. USA has ordered 16 episodes for Season 6, which is six episodes more than a usual season.

The USA president Chris McCumber said in a press release, "'Suits' has set the bar high in every way and continues to be a strong performer and marquee property for USA."

Jeff Wachtel, chief content officer for NBC Cable Entertainment and Universal Cable Productions, also noted: "(Showrunner) Aaron Korsh has some great surprises for the audience at the end of season five that should really set future seasons on an exciting new course."

The recent season just began and has had many fans intrigued to know where Donna and Harvey's relationship will go. The new season is focusing on character development, which is something the series lacked when it began. The original series was all about the business and law jargon when it started in 2011. And reviews were mixed.

However, with each season, critics have given the series a better reception. Audiences have also grown throughout the years and the past ratings showing how consistent and faithful the fanbase has been.

"Suits" stars Patrick J. Adams as Mike Ross, Gabriel Macht as Harvey, Gina Torres as Jessica Pearson, Meghan Markle as Rachel Zane, Rick Hoffman as Louis Litt, and Sarah Rafferty as Donna. The series tells the story of "Mike Ross, a brilliant college-dropout who finds himself a job working with Harvey Specter, one of New York City's best lawyers."
