The nationwide TV deal under NBA commissioner Adam Silver will kick in next summer, making the free agency stage all the more interesting, thanks to an exponential increase in the salary cap. One of the biggest stars potentially up for grabs is 2014 MVP Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, Bleacher Report's Adam Wells noted.

Some teams' names are floating around in the discussion of who wants to sign Durant if he does enter free agency. All three teams are big Western Conference contenders - Dallas Mavericks, LA Clippers, and the biggest fish - current world champions Golden State Warriors.

Current champs looking to add firepower

The coming year will be filled with discussions marching towards decision time for Durant next July. Having the current champs in the mix and actually getting the chance to sign the 26-year-old scorer makes everything too tensioned, as analysts report that the acquisition can only be made possible by a sign-and-trade deal involving Klay Thompson.

The Golden State Warriors, of course, is made very popular by their "Splash Brothers" 2015 MVP Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. The duo is known to be the league's current top three-point specialists with Curry making 286 three-pointers last season and Thompson making 239, according to ESPN statistics.

Will OKC let their star go?

Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News reported that Golden State "would love to be a featured part of the Durant discussion as a possible sign-and-trade destination." Six-time All-Star player Durant's contract will expire by the end of the coming season, making him an unrestricted free agent for 2016-17. All of this will be upon discussion if the Thunder fails to make him re-sign with the Thunder.

Meanwhile, Royce Young of ABC Sports wrote: "Durant said his rehab is entering 'Phase 3,' with him on the floor taking jump shots but not running and cutting yet. He said everything is on track and that he expects to be fully cleared sometime in August."

Last season, Durant only checked in for 27 games, incurring injuries that brought him under two surgeries for a Jones Fracture in his foot. Despite this setback, Durant is still a huge ticket in the league. Durant said he has been continuously rehabilitating and progressing - no other setback after his second injury.
