Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin confirmed that Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love will be ready come training camp.

The general manager said that the players' prior injuries will not be a standing issue, Cleveland.com reported.

"We think we'll have everybody healthy for camp," said Griffin as he addressed the media during the halftime presser of the NBA Summer League match between the Cavaliers and the Brooklyn Nets.

"Kyrie is rehabbing well. He's in Miami," Griffin answered when asked about Irving's condition after sustaining a season-ending knee injury during Game 1 of the NBA Finals between the Cavs and the Golden State Warriors.

"He's doing really well actually with his rehab protocol. He feels very good. He's certainly on pace right now for where we need to be," Griffin added.

A wounded squad

The Cavaliers suffered a huge downgrade in firepower when their star players Irving and Love went down with injuries during the postseason. Irving and Love watched as Lebron James carried the Cavs through the Finals series, finally succumbing to the Warriors who went on to win the 2015 Larry O'Brien trophy.

Irving went down with a knee injury during Game 1 of the NBA Finals against the Warriors. He missed the remainder of the series, as the Warriors moved on to become the 2015 NBA Champions. Cavs power forward Love also watched the series from the sidelines after getting ruled out of the season after a dislocated left shoulder suffered at the hands of the Celtics' Kelly Olynyk on April 26, during the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Should have, would have

Cavaliers star point Irving was interviewed saying he's confident they would have won the 2015 NBA championship had they stayed healthy throughout the campaign.

"I'm always gonna be a straight shooter with everyone and give them my honest opinion. Obviously, we had a great thing in Cleveland. We dealt with everything together. I felt like we would have definitely won an NBA championship if everyone was healthy. But almost doesn't count," Irving said in an interview with Shaquille O'neal on The Big Podcast.

Another Cavalier who missed most of the season is their veteran Brazilian big man Anderson Varejao who is expected to join the squad in the coming season.

"Andy, similarly, feels very good. He actually wanted to try to dress in the Finals and wasn't real happy that we didn't let him to do it. So, I anticipate he'll be ready for the start of camp," added Griffin.
