Do you love football -- and do you love your pet? Well, you may have to set your DVR to either the adorable canine or feline Super Bowl showdown this Sunday, in what's affectionately called the Puppy Bowl or the Kitten Bowl.

With more attention being dedicated to lovable pets on TV and online these days, there's a greater pet lover population to tap into, including an increasing Latino population in the U.S. Therefore, if you're a Latino pet lover, would you be more likely to tune into the Puppy Bowl or the Kitten Bowl?

According to statistics, the impact of race on pet ownership breaks down to -- 46 percent of all households own dogs, this number is 51 percent for Caucasians, 53 percent for Hispanics and 24 percent for African-Americans.

When it comes to felines -- 31 percent of households have cats, 36 percent for Caucasians, 34 percent for Hispanics and 14 percent for African-Americans. Therefore, it would appear that Latinos would be more likely to own dogs -- and be more likely to tune into the Puppy Bowl.

The stats also showed that "African-Americans seem to be less likely to own pets because they are more likely to live in densely populated urban areas with less room for pets; Caucasians are more likely to own larger dogs than the other groups; and Hispanics are more likely to enjoy the fun part of pet ownership-- they buy more toys for their pets, take more photographs and take their pet with them more often than other ethnic groups." Say cheese, or better yet, queso!

Mexican-American dog trainer, Cesar Millan also might be more inclined to tune into the Puppy Bowl as well. He's a self-taught expert who's widely known for his television series Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, broadcast in more than eighty countries worldwide from 2004 to 2012. He also stars in Cesar 911, which premieres Friday, Mar. 7, on NatGeo WILD.

Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet

Now in its tenth year, the Puppy Bowl is Animal Planet's annual celebration of adorable, tiny dogs (as well 30 tiny cats during the Kitty Halftime Show and cheerleader penguins) that airs a few hours before the Super Bowl and features 66 pups chasing toy footballs -and each other- on a miniature field.

Animal Planet's alternative programming to the NFL's Super Bowl, also features a "rufferee" and "every floppy tackle or slobbered-on football inspires an unintelligible burst of baby talk and giggles." There's even aerial views and commentary!

According to CNN's "66 adorable reasons to watch Puppy Bowl X," 12.4 million is the total number of Puppy Bowl IX viewers in 2013, among other cute and funny facts.

"Puppy Bowl X" premieres at 3 p.m. ET and PT Feb. 2.

Kitten Bowl on Hallmark Channel

"The competition will consist of two preliminary playoffs and a championship match. 'Kitten Bowl' guarantees the 60-70 kitten participants will join the list of pets adopted into loving homes and will significantly raise the awareness of the plight of shelter animals across the country."

The Kitten Bowl will air on Sunday, Feb. 2 at noon ET on the Hallmark Channel.
