The release date for the Man of Steel sequel, often referred to as Batman vs. Superman, has been postponed, but that doesn't mean casting rumors or even production are at a halt. Plus Warner Bros. may have found its director for its subsequent Justice League movie, but it's not who you think it is.

Rumors claim that Matthew Goode (Zach Snyder's Watchmen) is under consideration for a role in the film. According to Comic Book Movie, which cites "General Napier," Goode recently sat with Warner Bros. executives to discuss an unknown role in Batman vs. Superman. In August, The Hollywood Reporter reported that Goode a contender to play Batman.

According to Latino Review, principal photography for the Man of Steel sequel has already begun. The movie is to film in Detroit, and Henry Cavill (Superman) has been spotted hanging out in Michigan restaurants and pubs. A fan who claims to have spoken with Cavill says "they've been filming in Pontiac."

It is still not clear if the movie has really begun filming. Cavill reportedly has not been drinking and is currently training. He is also sporting a scruffy beard, which suggests that the actor is only preparing to film.

Finally, Latino Review reports that Cavill will be filming for 10 months. The extended amount of time suggests a possibility that he will also film the Justice League movie after completing Batman vs. Superman.

Speaking of the Justice League movie, will Ben Affleck, the Batman in Batman vs. Superman, be the director?

Forbes reports that Affleck was asked to direct an earlier Justice League movie that has since been scrapped. He turned it down because he wasn't a fan of the film. Snyder, Man of Steel and the Man of Steel sequel director, seems the obvious choice, but some suggest that he cannot  finish post-production on Batman vs. Superman and direct the Justice League film in time for it to be released within a year.  Affleck also dropped out of directing the pilot for The Middle Man, according to Deadline, which is heightening rumors.

Ultimately, it may be a bit early to get deep into the Justice League movie speculation, as it seems Batman vs. Superman production is just starting to go up, up and away.

The Man of Steel sequel hits theaters May 6, 2016.
