It's getting close to the Samsung Galaxy Note 5's unveiling, and the rumors and leaks are starting to flow faster. Here's a round up of the latest, including design changes to the back of the phablet, specs that include 4GB of RAM, and more.

Design

It appears the Galaxy Note 5 is going to be one of Samsung's latest devices with a curve.

It reportedly won't be on the "Edge" or the display -- or any part of the front of the device at all -- but rather on its back, according to a new report from SlashGear. The gadget news site writes that the Note 5 will have a "curved backside, perfect for the edges of your palm."

Though specifics on where the information came from were hard to come by, the rumor at least tracks with a slight trend in Android smartphone design of tweaking variable thickness so that larger slabs -- like the Nexus 6 -- rest in users' palms a little better.

More RAM

The site also mentioned a trend in the rumors surrounding the Galaxy Note 5 previously noted by NDTV: beefier RAM specifications, 4GB to be exact.

This rumor should still be taken with a grain of salt, but it makes sense that the 2015 Galaxy Note 5 would be among the first to include 4GB in its mobile devices because:

1. Samsung, itself, is a major innovator in, and producer of, flash memory.

2. The Galaxy Note series has previously set the upper-limit for RAM, being one of the first to introduce the increasingly common 3GB standard in last year's Galaxy Note 4.

3. Other upcoming devices not made by Samsung are also rumored to include 4GB, so that will probably just be a common thing soon enough anyway.

Unveil Date & More

Rumors of an earlier unveiling and launch of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 are starting to gain more credibility after the exclusively Samsung-news site SamMobile reported some specific -- and earlier -- dates.

According to SamMobile's unnamed (but often correct) insiders, the reveal event for the Galaxy Note 5 (and Galaxy S6 edge Plus) will be on Aug. 12, with sales beginning for the devices two weeks later on Aug. 21.

One interesting tidbit from the report is that the device will purportedly not have a microSD slot, similar to the Galaxy S6. It is, however, expected to come with a 16-megapixel main camera, an updated "S Pen" stylus, and 5.7-inch screen with 144 x 2570p resolution running on the new Samsung Exynos 7422 octa-core processor with 4GB RAM and 64GB minimum storage.
