Vanessa Hudgens reportedly gained 15lbs to play a homeless and pregnant teenager role of Apple in her latest, now playing movie, Gimme Shelter.

Although she dropped the weight as soon as filming was over, Hudgens admitted that she was not comfortable at the bigger size. "I didn't feel comfortable in my body because I gained this weight," she previously said during her appearance on The View.

Furthermore, the 25-year-old actress claimed that she did not "recognize" herself after gaining weight for the role, and it took "a lot of hard work and dedication" to get back into shape. As a yoga enthusiast, Hudgens said, "I am kind of a fitness fanatic. I'm an earthy girl."

Vanessa Hudgens is now back to her normal beautiful self, as she was seen during a solo hike in Los Angeles on Monday, flaunting her toned abs in a cropped top.

In addition, the young actress said that filming was so stressful that she even went through a panic attack on set, recalling a tense scene involving a stunt double that got hurt. "I had a panic attack," she said. "I don't like seeing people getting hurt. I felt like it was a breach of safety -- it gives me anxiety thinking about it."

Vanessa Hudgens also revealed that her friends were concerned for her when she was done with filming, because she got way too much into her movie role that she had almost lost her sense of self. "I didn't really know who I was -- Vanessa was gone. I came home and I was a complete disaster," she said. "My best friend is still so concerned about me when she thinks about that day because I was just a bit of a mess."

"I wasn't really comfortable in social situations and my self-esteem was super low 'cause I had no hair and I had put on all this weight, so physically I didn't feel attractive," she added. "And I was single."
