Fans of the first-person shooting genre can attest to its less than stellar controllability while being played on gaming consoles.

Most have conceded to the mouse and keyboard set-up as a more suitable method for playing this particular genre of video games.

To reconcile these discrepancies, Hori, a Japanese-based company, is scheduled to launch a wired PlayStation 4 control set resembling a PC mouse and keyboard.

Dubbed as "Tactical Assault Commander 4," the main controller looks like a cut-in-half version of a PC keyboard with only the main gaming keys displayed.

PS4 gamers won't have a hard time familiarizing with its WASD-style controls since instead of letters, the controller will have all the face buttons common in PlayStation consoles.

Unlike generic desktop keyboards, "TAC 4" will be equipped with built-in buttons for sniping, walking, and sprinting, IGN described.

Its USB mouse controller is a slightly upgraded version of a common PC mouse. However, it is solely built for PS4 gaming as it is fitted with added buttons like "R1" and "R2" in the thumb pocket of the device.

Added features of the "TAC 4" include volume toggles and LED backlighting.

It will also be compatible with the PS3, Kotaku reported.

No U.S. release date has been announced as of yet although Polygon cited that "TAC 4" will be released in the U.K. for £86 on October 9, well before the November debut of the highly-anticipated "Black Ops III" for PS4.

The controller set will be available in Japan this November. There, it is expected to cost around 14,904 yen or roughly $120.

In other PS4 news, GameStop is selling customized 2-terabyte versions of the PS4. Their tinkering came in the wake of reports that Sony will not be releasing the 1-terabyte version of the product in North American soil.

According to Forbes, European gamers were the ones first to be treated with the PS4's "Ultimate Player" edition last July 15th. The edition had a 1-terabyte disk capacity in it.

As the days past and no word yet from Sony, GameStop has ingenuously offered an alternative for American gamers.

They have modified the current 500-gigabyte PS4 into a 2-terabyte "Supercharged" version of the console.

Based from their official website, the refurbished console will retail for $479.99.

A refurbished 500 GB PS4 is listed at $359.99. The same unit, coupled with a "Batman: Arkham Knight" game, will cost $399.99.
