The most successful franchise in National Football League history kicks off their preseason on Aug. 13 against the New England Patriots. For the Packers, it's "Super Bowl or bust" considering they have won four Super Bowls and 13 league titles dating back to 1929.

Packers fans have watched their team win the NFC North the last four consecutive years over the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions. Last season the Packers were a dominating 5-1 against divisional opponents. One could argue that no team owns their division quite like the Packers do.

Having Aaron Rodgers on the team certainly helps. Rodgers was the league MVP last season for the second time in his career. He and running back Eddie Lacy created an offense that ranked first overall in scoring. Wide receivers Randall Cobb and Jordy Nelson combined for 25 touchdowns last year, and they have proven to be one of the best receiving duos in the league.

The Dallas Cowboys' offensive line gets the most attention, but this Packers front five is elite. Guard Josh Sitton (former fourth round pick) was an All-Pro selection last year.

As far as defense is concerned, the Packers defensive unit won't be confused with the 1985 Bears or the 2000 Baltimore Ravens, but they are underrated. The Packers defense forced a lot of turnovers and ranked a respectable 13th in points allowed last year. Clay Matthews and Julius Peppers don't make things easy for opposing quarterbacks.

This year the Packers will take on the AFC West. This brings on a must-watch game in Week 8 against Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. It's also a rematch of Super Bowl 32 when Hall of Fame quarterbacks Brett Favre and John Elway faced off. Elway is now the Broncos team president. Maybe Favre will be at the game, just like old times.

The Packers own their division, they have an elite roster, maybe the best quarterback in the game today, and they are favored by many to win the NFC.

So, what's the problem?

The big elephant (or in this case, bird) in the room is the Seattle Seahawks. The Seahawks have won the NFC the last two years and have done so by posting a 3-0 record against the Packers in the process. Russell Wilson is 3-0 against the Packers in his career including a huge 16-point comeback victory last year in the NFC Championship game. This is sort of similar to 1990s San Francisco 49ers team that couldn't beat the Cowboys for so many years. Steve Young eventually broke through with a playoff win against the Cowboys in the 1994-95 season.

Can the Packers end their drought against the Seahawks? More than likely they will have to if they want to win the NFC. The Seahawks and Packers will face off in Week 2 at Lambeau Field, a must-win for the Packers. Don't be surprised if these two teams play each other again.

The Packers have a pretty standard schedule with a bye week in Week 7. They also play (at home) the Bears on Thanksgiving day in Week 12. Five times this year the Packers will be on prime time television. Those five games will be against the Seahawks in Week 2, Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, Broncos in Week 8, Bears in Week 12 and Lions in Week 13.

The Packers should be able to win the NFC North yet again, but their expectations always end with a Super Bowl. The Seahawks and Cowboys could be their biggest obstacles next postseason. Getting home-field advantage, and avoiding traveling to Seattle is a must for the Packers.
