Actor Kurt Russell is making his grand return to the Old West, but this time the film is going to be a horror story.

In his last escapade, which was the hit "Tombstone," he played lawman Wyatt Earp. This time, he will be a sheriff in "Bone Tomahawk," according to Deadline.

The seasoned Hollywood veteran will be starring alongside Patrick Wilson, Matthew Fox, Lili Simmon and Richard Jenkins. Although Russell is the veteran in the Western genre, it is Wilson who is the veteran in the horror genre, coming off recent horror film successes with both chapters of "Insidious" and "The Conjuring" under his belt.

Matthew Fox is the "Lost" superstar who has done quite well in sci-fi series and a few films since the show went off the air.

The movie, according to another article on Deadline, will be a Western about a group of people who take up arms against a group of cannibals that have kidnapped people from a town on the edge of civilization. But that is only where the horror begins.

Russell will play Sheriff Franklin Hunt and Wilson will play Arthur O'Dwyer. The two will lead the charge against the outlaw cannibals alongside the cast. But what they end up finding may turn out to be more horrible than the thought of cannibals roaming around outside their town.

Fox will play the role of John Brooder, who is an eloquent man with a few secrets of his own. He has a dark past and his inclinations are something to be less desired. He will also have access to weapons, which in the Wild West is something they cannot live without.

There has been no word yet on the wide release date for the film, but it will be premiering on closing night of the Fantastic Fest in Austin.
