Blizzard Entertainment has unveiled the latest expansion pack to their 2004 popular MMORPG game "World of Warcraft."

The California-based video game company debuted "World of Warcraft: Legion" at Gamescom 2015 in Cologne, Germany, on Thursday.

A teaser trailer of "Legion " was first shown before further details of the game were elaborated.

Game Rant noted that the new features of WOW's sixth expansion pack includes the following:

  •  New continent: The Broken Isles
  •  New class: Demon Hunter
  •  Artifacts: customizable weapons that grow in power as you do
  •  Class-specific Order Halls and followers
  •  All New Dungeons and Raids
  •  New World Bosses
  •  Level cap raised to 110
  •  Revamped PvP progression system
  •  Improved transmogrification system
  •  Improved social features
  •  Character Boost-immediately raise one character to level 100

"The Broken Isles," the ruins of a Night Elf civilization, will still be featuring "Dalaran," the main meeting ground for players in the previous expansion. The new content also lets players search for new zones for the relics of the Azeroth Titans called the "Pillars of Creation." Players will also be exploring the "Tomb of Sargeras." See the map of "The Broken Isles" here.

An improvement from "World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King," "Val'Sharah" will now contain a bonus trip to the Emerald Dream, a realm that is said to be the staple location for subsequent WOW expansions.

Blizzard then introduced a new hero class, the Demon Hunter. The character will spawn at a higher level and will be in its unique zone. Players will play through flashbacks going back to the "World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade" when spawning a new Demon Hunter hero.

"The Demon Hunter will have two talent specializations: Havoc, which focuses on DPS, and Vengeance for those who prefer to tank. Some spells and abilities add to the Demon Hunter's Demonic Fury resource system, while others spend the resource. You'll also be able to see through walls and obstacles, and perform mid-air jumps with the character - a first for WOW," wrote Euro Gamer.

Blizzard promised more interactions in "Legion" as Champions aiding the gamers will now be non-player characters. This is part of the improved champion system installed for Class orders. The video game company also assured more "replayability" as well as more dungeons in their sixth expansion pack.

Blizzard has yet to announce the release date for "World of Warcraft: Legion" although they have issued a press statement saying a beta test for the upcoming expansion pack will commence later this year.
