Achy Breaky Heart Rap Remix: Miley Cyrus' Dad Billy Ray Releases New Song Edition with Dionne Warwick's Son Buck 22 [VIDEO]
The first horseman of the apocalypse has arrived, and its name is "Achy Breaky 2," the self-proclaimed "rap remix" of the 90s one-hit wonder "Achy Breaky Heart," by a man now known as Miley's dad: Billy Ray Cyrus.
The rapper singing along with Cyrus is a rapper by the name of "Buck 22." But what's interesting about him is the following:
- He's not a "thug rapper" at all -- his name is Damon Elliott, and he's a respected producer who has worked with the likes of PInk, Christina Aguilera, Bone Thugs N'Harmony, and Gwen Stefani.
- He's also worked with Dionne Warwick -- who, incidentally, happens to be his mother
- His father is jazz drummer and actor Bill Elliott
So, clearly, he's no stranger to either music, or money, or integrity. So the question begs itself: why do this? This makes LL Cool J and Brad Paisley's song "Accidental Racist" look like Handel's Messiah.
Furthermore, let's discuss Billy Ray: we were more than happy to leave him in 1990s' one-hit wonder-dom. Why, oh why, did his daughter have to become a Disney star and bring him back into the spotlight... flat-ironed hair and all? Was Miley's whole career really orchestrated for Billy Ray Cyrus to have a "comeback" in the music industry? Because if so, her "twerking" is even more insidious than we originally thought.
And how did these two unlikely people team up for this collaboration from hell? Buck 22 (a/k/a Elliott) explains it to Complex Magazine: "When I ran into Billy, I thought immediately about my mom's 50th Anniversary Album that I am producing and how I'd love to pitch to him the idea of a duet with her and I immediately get my mom on the phone and ask him if he would mind doing a duet with her for her album and they both agreed. I followed up with a text soon thereafter that lead me to Jay Leno show, where Billy was performing and one week later we are at a session at Jamie Foxx's house recording the duet."
Anyway... click on the "play" button and say RIP to all of your senses & sensibilities.
