It seems that UFC Bantamweight Division Champion, Ronda Rousey, is very interested to portray the role of Miss Marvel on the big screen. The undefeated mixed martial artist has been very active on Instagram and posted fan arts that depicted her wearing the superheroine's costume.

Last week, Rousey conducted a Reddit AMA where she answered a fan's query on which superhero she would be keen to portray.

"Well... a lot of good ones have been taken, but I'd like to vie for Miss Marvel," replied Rousey.

Miss Marvel or Captain Marvel is the superhero name of Carol Danvers and she is set to have her own movie in Marvel's Cinematic Universe Phase Three, reported Cinema Blend.

The movie is set for 2018 and the studio is yet to finalize casting for the lead role.

It seems that the fans agree with Rousey's choice and believe she'd be perfect for the role of the superhero. In fact, to prove their point, many had been creating fan art that showed the mixed martial artist don the red and black costume of Captain Marvel.

The former Olympian recently took to social networking site, Instagram, to post some of the fan art she had received that depicted her as the superhero.

"Since the reddit AMA I've received so many badass Ms. Marvel/Captain Marvel edits! There were so many cool ones I couldn't pick just one to share - here's 1 series of 2," posted the UFC fighter.

The first image showed three depictions of Rousey as Miss Marvel, with two made by @bosslogix and @salman.artworks.

The second image had two photos of the fighter as the superhero with the first one showing Rousey with her short hair made by @alexmurilloart while the other one, created by Hugo Dorado, used an image of the fighter with her hair on braids.

The 28-year-old judoka looked very convincing for the role. Aside from that, her fighting experience, physique and built seemed perfect for the action-packed role that the superhero story needed, noted Slash Film.

However, while the actress had acting experience, many argue that it might not be enough for her to take on a lead role.

Rousey had a cameo on "Entourage" and had small roles in "Fast and the Furious 7" as well as "The Expendables 3." In "Furious 7," she had the chance to display her skills in a fight scene with Michelle Rodriguez.

But with production for the upcoming movie still a long way off, it remains to be seen if Rousey will be in the running for the coveted role.

Cinema Blend reported that other actresses that are eyeing the role are Jessica Chastain, Bryce Dallas Howard and Emily Blunt.

"Captain Marvel" will hit theaters in November 2018.
