The winner Season 12 of reality dance competition "So You Think You Can Dance" will have the opportunity to join Jennifer Lopez as a dancer for her upcoming Las Vegas residency shows.

According to Billboard, Lopez announced the addition to the winner's prize package in a taped announcement during the show on Aug. 17.

"Whether it is a stage or street dancer, I know you are going to choose someone to rip it because all of the dancers this year are sensational," Lopez told SYTYCD fans. Lopez also took to Twitter to share the news with her followers.

The show's executive producer Nigel Lythgoe, who also serves as a judge, explained that he was really excited that the winner of the competition will have the chance to join Lopez on her residency.

"Whether it's a member from team street or team stage, we know one of our spectacular dancers will be an amazing addition to the show," he said.

The 46-year-old will be starting her residency in Vegas on Jan. 20, 2016 and explained that it would feature her "Latin side, fun side and hip hop side," reported ET Online

"I think I've been preparing for this my whole life," she told ET Online during "American Idol" auditions. "I'm excited about going to Vegas [and] doing the kind of quintessential show that I've always had in my mind."

The singer joins Celine Dion, Cher, Britney Spears and Mariah Carey as the latest music icon to get her own residency.

"It's gonna have everything that I've been known to do over the years, and it's gonna be a beautiful, glamorous kind of Vegas show," she said. "Something that I think people, whether you're a fan of my music or not, would come and see and really enjoy. That's my goal."

Lopez's residency will include 20 performance dates, all between January and June 2016.
