When Microsoft revealed that Xbox has more to offer than any other gaming consoles, they took that literally with their backwards compatibility feature. Now, according to Attack of the Fan Boy, Xbox is all set to release a new set of backwards-compatible games to its fans.

Although Xbox boss, Phil Spencer, did not disclose which games will be available, he made a statement that within this week, revelations about the games will be made. Fans have been rooting about the "Red Dead Redemption," but none of it has been confirmed.

Backwards compatibility has been Xbox's effort to integrate Xbox 360 games to Xbox One, but these selected games will also depend on their publishers whether they want them in the feature or not. The fate of "Red Dead Redemption" will depend on its publisher and remains to be seen whether it will make the cut this week.

According to GameSpot, the backwards compatibility feature is currently available to those with Xbox and are currently Preview Program members. The feature will be available to everyone in November of this year. When the feature becomes available to everyone, Xbox promises to bring in more games to the console.

In another report from GameSpot, Ubisoft is more than happy to know about the Xbox feature, not only because of the revenues it can give to their old and previous games, but also its capacity to relive their previous games to the current generations of gaming consoles. Last July, some publishers expressed their support to the backwards compatibility feature of Xbox. Electronic Arts, for example, has been more than willing to distribute some of their Xbox 360 games and integrate it to the Xbox One. Criterion, on the other hand, has put on thoughts about allowing "Burnout Paradise" to be available on Xbox One.

While fans have been eager to know what's in store for the week on Xbox's backwards  compatibility, another GameSpot report has listed the games that are already available. Some of them include the "Gears of War" series, "Mass Effect," "Toy Soldiers," "A Kingdom of Keflings," "A World of Keflings" and a lot more.

The announcement of the backwards compatibility feature has brought Xbox more popularity than any other gaming consoles, this is why they strive hard to put in more games to Xbox One. The imminent announcement of additional Xbox backwards-compatible games is not far, and fans will know soon if the "Red Dead Redemption" will be in or not.
