The Pokémon franchise has revealed a new Pokémon, but it is one that has been leaked online for months.

Known as the Jewel Pokémon, Diancie was finally confirmed on Valentine's Day.

While details are not 100 percent confirmed, Diancie is revealed to be a "sudden transformation" of the non-legendary Pokémon Carbink. While Carbink does not currently have an evolution, it is unlikely Diancie is its evolution despite being a mutation. Diance and Carbink does share the same types -- Rock and Fairy.

Although some have labeled Diancie as a "Legendary" Pokémon, it is largely categorized, so far, as a "Mythical" Pokémon. It could mean Diancie will not gain legendary status but lets not rule it out.

What is also confirmed is Diancie's Ability -- Clear Body. With the Clear Body Ability, Diancie is able to prevent stat reductions caused by another Pokémon. With the addition of Diancie, a total of 13 Pokémon have the Clear Body Ability, including Carbink. Other Pokémon with Clear Body include Metagross, Regirock, Regice, Registeel, and the Klink evolution line. Clear Body was first introduced in the third-generation games of the Pokémon franchise.

Diancie's measurements have also been revealed with a height of two feet and four inches and weight of 19.4 pounds.

According to one of the Pokédex entries, spotted on the official Pokémon website, "It can instantly create many diamonds by compressing the carbon in the air between its hands."

A second Pokédex entry read, "A sudden transformation of Carbink, its pink, glimmering body is said to be the loveliest sight in the world."

Another trivia fact about Diancie is, despite being a mutation out of Carbink, it often ignores Carbink and acts on its own will.

Diancie is also credited to create diamonds out of thin air by carbon compression in the atmosphere. With the jewels it created, Diancie can use it in attacks and defense.

In regards to moves, five moves have been confirmed for Diancie. The Jewel Pokémon is capable of learning Calm Mind, Dazzling Gleam, Explosion, Hyper Beam, and Power Gem.

What the Pokémon Company International did not reveal was how or when fans can obtain Diancie. It is unknown if Diance will be released as part of an event, downloadable content, or secretly hidden across "Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y."

A spoiler has been revealed in Japan, however, for the next Pokémon film, and it does include Diancie. While the official English name of the next Pokémon film has not been confirmed, it is known as "The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie."

According to a translation via Bulbapedia, Diancie is the princess of a country that hosts the new movie's location. A huge diamond is located in the country known as the "Holy Diamond," and it bares "an important energy source." The source of the diamond is Diance, but she lost control of it. It is then that the legendary Pokémon Xerneas and Yveltal are set to appear.

"Pokémon X" and "Pokémon Y" launched worldwide on Oct. 12, 2013, for the Nintendo 2DS and Nintendo 3DS consoles.
