Karim Benzema recently took to Twitter to call the Bernabeu his home amid constant transfer rumors.

The tweet was a shout-out to "all those clowns" claiming the 27-year-old French international is leaving Real Madrid.

The Lyon-born forward has been tied to strong transfer rumors this summer, most notably from English Premier League clubs Arsenal and Manchester United.

However, Real Madrid has stood firm on their decision to keep Benzema. It was earlier speculated that the Spanish squad might finally concede the French international in order to make room for Sergio Aguero.

In a previous report from Fichajes.net with translation from Metro, Florentino Perez allegedly wanted to coax Aguero to sign with Real Madrid this summer. It would have paved the way for Arsenal to acquire their prime target in Benzema.

As to why Perez might be interested in Manchester City's premier striker, Aguero has 41 reasons. The 27-year-old boasts a production line of thirty two goals while assisting on nine of his teammates' points.

Perez must have comtemplated on the thought of having Aguero, Gareth Bale, and Cristiano Ronaldo together. The Argentinean's style would afford the Bernabeu with one of the deadliest attacking trios in all of soccer. In addition, Aguero seems to be a fit with the "Galacticos" persona.

Needless to say, Arsenal and Real Madrid's hopes rest in the persuading power of Perez. Perez has a lot of recruiting to do as Aguero seems to be just satisfied with his current squad.

Mirror quoted the striker as saying last June, "The truth is yes, I'm very happy. I'm enjoying these four years that I've had at City and there are still many more years to come. I'm very happy."

Arsenal has since accepted the fact the they might not get Benzema as Real Madrid's attempt to get Aguero has gone nowhere.

"But their hopes are diminishing, especially with no sign of Madrid signing another striker to potentially replace the Frenchman this summer," Goal reported.

Not crying over spilled milk, The Gunners are currently scheduled to pass an offer sheet to PSG for forward Edinson Cavani. Lone 2014 World Cup Final scorer, Mario Götze, is also rumored to be interested in joining the Emirates-based club.

As for Benzema, the French international is under contract for Real Madrid until 2019. His thigh injury kept him from participating in Real Madrid's opening La Liga game but he has since returned to training on Monday at Madrid's Valdebebas training complex. Benzema scored 22 goals in 46 appearances for the Los Blancos last season.
