Since the beginning, USA Network's "Suits" teased that Mike Ross' (Patrick J. Adams) secret would reveal itself in a dramatic way that could not be undone. Fans first thought the revelation would be when Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres) learned of it at the end of season 1. When Louis Litt (Rick Hoffman) found out in the middle of last season, fans thought for sure Ross' end was near.

In the "Suits" season finale, the secret was threatening the sanctity of Ross and Rachel Zane's (Meghan Markle) relationship. Something had to be done.

Ross visited his childhood priest, Father Sam Walker (Scott Michael Campbell), for advice. The priest pointed out to Ross that he blamed everyone else for his life troubles instead of being personally accountable for his own actions. It was a hard pill for Mike to swallow, and he even shed tears.

Ross is scarred from losing his parents at a young age, and we learned that he wasn't afraid to leave his fraudulent life because he loved the money or prestige - he was scared that Zane would leave him. Father Walker urged him to have faith that she would remain by his side.

After meeting with Father Walker, Ross returned home, dressed in his suit and headed to the firm. He handed Harvey Specter his resignation, which Specter accepted. The two men hugged.

Fans were then shocked as police entered the firm and arrested Ross for conspiracy to commit fraud.

Gone is the risk of termination from the law firm. Now, Ross faces a possible prison sentence and losing Zane.

But why was he arrested for conspiracy to commit fraud instead of fraud itself? He was, in fact, committing fraud.

"Criminal conspiracy" suggests that two or more people were involved to perpetrate an illegal act. If he has been arrested for conspiracy, who else is involved?

Meanwhile, Specter visited Dr. Agard (Christina Cole) for advice in deciding whether to leave the firm to save Pearson. He viewed the firm as his family. He worried that by leaving, he'd tear the firm apart, like he did his real family -- when he emotionally crippled his father by revealing his mother's infidelity in the worst possible way and then left.

Pearson, Litt, and Donna Paulsen (Sarah Rafferty) battled against Jack Soloff (John Pyper-Ferguson), Daniel Hardman (David Costabile) and Charles Forstman (Eric Roberts) to save the firm. Soloff did not accept Paulsen's offer to resign. He called an emergency partner vote of no-confidence.

The day of the vote, Specter delivered a letter signed by Forstman that indicated he had dropped Hardman as his lawyer. Specter then pleaded Paulsen's case. In the end, everyone voted to keep Paulsen, and Specter announced his exit.

"Suits" season 6 will debut on USA Network in early 2016.
