This week only one film will be released on DVD, as studios are currently in the festival rush and Oscar season begins.

Weekly Highlights

"The Age of Adaline": Back in April, Lionsgate released a film starring Blake Lively and directed by Lee Toland Krieger. The movie was "The Age of Adaline," and it told the story of a woman who was born at the turn of the 20th century who becomes ageless after an accident. When she meets a man whom she falls in love with, the eternal life she has settled into is put to the test.

The film opened to mixed reviews, but still scored a healthy box office as it made $42 million. "The Age of Adaline" also stars Harrison Ford, Amanda Crew, Ellen Burstyn and Kathy Baker, and was recently nominated for the Teen Choice awards for Best Drama and Best Actress. The movie is coming out at the right moment, when audiences are more interested in dramas, especially with Oscar season coming up. While this film is unlikely to play for the Academy, it will definitely attract older audiences, as well as younger females.
