The newest season of "Dancing with the Stars" is practically here and no one is feeling more excited and anxious as the show's new competitors. Two of the famous contestants take the time to sit down and share their thoughts on participating on television's hottest reality show.

In an interview with Jennifer Matarese of 6ABC, Nick Carter and Bindi Irwin talked about some details of the upcoming "Dancing with the Stars" season.

Those who grew up watching the Backstreet Boys move fluidly in their music videos will likely expect band member Carter to cruise through the competition next season. Even his fellow dancers mention him as a threat in their bid to win the Mirror Ball Trophy.

"I guess the one that you think of quick is Nick Carter, 'cause he's done a lot of dancing, right?" Andy Grammer responded when asked by ABC to name the competitor he's intimidated by. "But it's so different than just any sort of like hip-hop dancing or anything like that. But sure, I'm scared of Nick Carter!"

Despite the positive feedback, the boy band heartthrob is quick to play down the hype on his dance experience and focus on doing his best on the show.

"For the most part, it's really all about what I'm trying to achieve internally," he said during the interview. "A lot of people don't realize that I actually have an insecurity when it comes to dancing. And that stems from starting when I was 12 years old and being in an ensemble, I was one of five guys that you could hide in the choreography. So you're not out there by yourself like a solo artist would be."

He added, "There's a lot of flaws and habits that I have, and those things are becoming very obvious as I'm in class with Sharna [Burgess]."

Ultimately, it's not showing off that's important to the singer, but honing his craft onstage for his solo projects and Backstreet Boys career. He said, "I want to grow as an entertainer and as a performer."

Meanwhile, 17-year-old television personality and wildlife activist Irwin admitted to struggling a little due to her inexperience on the dance floor.

"I think that just because I don't have any dance experience it has been quite a challenge," she told 6ABC in the interview. "I think that the first week was probably the hardest. Just because you're reprogramming your body, you're trying to how to move."

Irwin credited her partner for helping her feel more comfortable saying, "I think it's been really helpful because Derek [Hough], my partner, has been so wonderful. I mean, he is so supportive, every day I laugh until my sides hurt."

"Dancing with the Stars" Season 21 begins on Monday, Sept. 14.
