Some art work was recently unveiled confirming the teams of warring factions in the hotly anticipated “Captain America: Civil War.” While most fans were not too surprised by the teams, there were some surprises, namely that Black Panther was joining Iron Man while Scarlet Witch was not in any pictures.

That started off some speculation, and actress Elizabeth Olsen, who plays the character, added some interesting bits to the conversation on “Captain America: Civil War’s” two warring factions.

“She’s okay,” Olsen said, according to Comic Book Resources. “She’s doing alright. She’s confused, she’s conflicted. She’s found some people she thinks she connects with, but she’s doing alright. They released images of Team Cap and Team Iron Man. She wasn’t there. She’s always the wild card. I like being the wild card.”

Many expected that she would automatically be a fixture on Captain America’s team for a number of reasons.

In “Avengers: Age of Ultron” she was adamant on avenging the death of her parents by killing the man responsible -- Tony Stark. Eventually, they joined forces to stop the evil Ultron, but there was never any sign that she had completely stopped blaming Stark for her parents’ deaths.

This would obviously make her more likely to join the Captain in the event of a Civil War.

The second reason that she would join the Captain in “Captain America: Civil War” is a more practical one, from the standpoint of balancing the battle. Vision is on Iron Man’s team and is a magic user of sorts. It would only be fair if the Scarlet Witch were with the Captain, thus evening out the sides.

It will be interesting to see where the character goes, as she is not getting her own standalone film with which to cope with the loss of her parents, as well as her union with the Avengers.

“Captain America: Civil War” hits theaters on May 6, 2016.
