"Empire" stars Taraji P. Henson and Terrence Howard shared an awkward kiss moment at the 2015 Emmy Awards.

As Henson and Howard talked on stage at the Emmy's, Howard planted a big kiss on her cheek that she immediately wiped off and made a funny face about. Was it part of their act? Or is she really grossed out by her colleague?

The co-stars are ex-spouses Cookie and Lucious Lyon in "Empire." At the start of Season 2, Lucious is in prison for murder while Cookie is fighting for the family's music company.

At the start of Season 1, Cookie was just released from federal prison for drug charges and maybe man slaughter. She came back to fight for a part of the music company that belongs to her. Now she's back at square one fighting for what's hers.

This time around, Cookie has her two sons Andre (Trai Byers) and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray) and Lucious' ex-fiancé Anika (Grace Gealey) to help.

Henson was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a drama series for her role as Cookie. "How to Get Away With Murder" actress Viola Davis won the honor making history as the first African-American woman to receive the Emmy.

Meanwhile, Howard brought his ex-wife Mira Pak to the Emmy's this year following their divorce after just two years of marriage. The couple stepped out on the red carpet ahead of the show where Howard was a presenter along with his onscreen ex-wife Henson.

Rumors about their secret divorce surfaced while Howard battled in court his second wife Michelle Ghent, whom he was married to for just three years. He married his first wife Lori McCommas twice after splitting for goodin 2003.

"Empire" returns to Fox on Wednesday where fans get to see if Lucious will make it out of jail soon and take over the family's company again.
