Rick Ross is showing his sensitive side in a case where a woman has named him as a defendant in a civil suit alleging that she was sexually assaulted by a member of his crew.

TMZ reports the woman, identified as Jane Doe, alleges that over the Grammy Awards weekend she met Ross and members of his posse at the W Hotel in Los Angeles and later accompanied them to the Cannabis Cup weed convention.

While riding in their van, she claims she drank liquor she was offered, which caused her to become dazed and confused before passing out. Two hours later, she allegedly awoke to find herself in the vehicle with Ross, a DJ, the driver, three security guards and a man named Thaddeus "Black" James

After going back to his hotel room with Black, whom TMZ reports is believed to be the actual culprit, the woman told investigators she again passed out. She added she awoke several hours later and realized her clothes had been removed and she had been sexually assaulted.

"It has been brought to my attention that serious allegations have been made against an independent contractor, whose services I use often," Ross said.

"And while I am not directly involved or implicated, as a man and a father, I take this very seriously. I don't believe any woman's safety should be compromised and she should never be forced to do anything outside of her will, regardless of the circumstances."

While further insisting he has no personal knowledge of what happened, Ross added he hopes the matter is quickly and rightfully resolved.

Sources add the woman justifies Ross being named as a defendant because Black was serving as his agent and should have been better supervised.

Earlier this month, 39-year-old Ross announced he is now engaged to 21-year-old rapper Lira Mercer.
