The Sony Company's new favorite letter is Z.

At the Mobile World Congress show, held in Barcelona, Spain, Sony blew away most of its competitors, such as Samsung and Apple, with the introduction of three new devices, the SmartBand, two new smartphones and a tablet.

The USA Today reported that the SmartBand SWR10 is the latest device in wearable technology. Sony's SmartBand creates a log of the user's activities ranging from where they go, how active they are and what they listen to, to how much they sleep. The SmartBand is also waterproof, and can be paired with smartphones via Bluetooth.

The SmartBand joins the school of smartband technology with "Fitbit Flex," "Jawbone Up24," and "Nike's Fuelband SE." CNET reported that Sony's SmartBand does, however, take virtual snapshots of what you're doing, and who you're doing it with.

"SmartBand and its innovative core extends beyond fitness tracking, but it is to add colorful, and fun entertainment to the lives of its users," Kunimasa Suzuki, President and CEO of Sony Mobile Communications, stated.

The expected retail price of the SmartBand is $135 U.S.

Enter the Xperia Z2, Sony's flagship device. It is a waterproof smartphone with a camera that has 20.7 megapixels and captures high resolution video. The Z2 looks almost identical to the Z1, the "older" model that came out last year, except with a larger display screen. The Z2 also has a faster processor than its predecessor.

X marks the spot again for Sony when they released the Xperia M2, another smartphone with a 4.8-inch display screen, and an 8 megapixel camera.

The Mobile World Congress Show is a paradise for techies, and early adopters. With the introduction of Sony's new devices, they had its target audience salivating.

Sony's cherry on top of the proverbial cake was the 10.1-inch Xperia Z2 tablet. The tablet claims to be powerful, as well as ultra-thin, and is waterproof. The tablet is 6.4mm thick, making it much thinner than Apple's 7.4mm iPad Air.

The SmartBand, along with the tablet, and the Z2 smartphone are to be launched this month. The M2 is expected to launch in April.

"Entertainment is a part of our [Sony] ethos-it's our culture," Suzuki said.
