The second generation Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 are probably going to be revealed at Google's press event next week, and likely will be released soon after this late fall, 2015. Ahead of that event, leaks are happening fast and details on the new 2015 Google Nexus phones are becoming quite clear, including their names.

The Nexus 5 2015 and Nexus 6 2015 are almost certainly going to be called the Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P when Google announces their release dates next week. Thanks to Android Police, which exclusively published leaked images of the retail boxes for both new Nexus smartphones, we know their names and at least one storage option for each handset.

And thanks to another leaked image -- this time appearing to be the official Google press image of the Nexus 6P, which was also obtained by Android Police -- we also know that the Nexus 6P is indeed being made by Huawei in partnership with Google, as previous rumors all pointed to.

The image also shows the long black strip on the back that houses a camera and flash, as well as a ring right next to the "Nexus" branding that almost certainly is a fingerprint scanner.

Rumors have centered on the Nexus 6P being a phablet-sized device with a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, running an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. Why the device was designed with such an unattractive camera sensor bar is still unknown.

The jury may still be officially out on the 2015 Nexus 5X, but it's safe to bet that LG is the manufacturer of the second gen Nexus 5. It's expected to be the smaller of the two devices, likely with a 5.2-inch screen running the hexa-core Snapdragon 808.

Grains of salt and all, these rumors will all be confirmed or disconfirmed within a few days, when Google is expected to take the stage in San Francisco on Sept. 29.
