The Pittsburgh Steelers suffered a huge blow to their offense during Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams when Ben Roethlisberger suffered a sprained MCL.

According to Bleacher Report, Roethlisberger will be out for 4-6 weeks. The two-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback was injured after Rams safety Mark Barron sacked him. Barron hit Roethlisberger below his left knee, leaving the quarterback wincing in pain.

ESPN's Chris Mortensen was the first to tweet the news that the Steelers quarterback will be out of play for several weeks.

Coach Mike Tomlin confirmed the injury after Sunday's game. Tomiln stated, "The MRI on Sunday night revealed Ben Roethlisberger had an MCL injury to his left knee. There is no timetable for his return, but Ben is a competitor and we are confident he will do everything in his power to return at the appropriate time."

Sources say that not only did Roethlisberger suffer a sprained MCL, he also suffered a bone bruise. It is not known if he will miss additional time for the bone bruise.

In three games this season, Roethlisberger threw for 912 yards with four touchdowns and two interceptions. He is projected to return to the lineup on Sunday, Nov. 15 at home against the Cleveland Browns.

Second-string quarterback Michael Vick will be starting for the team for the foreseeable future. Vick signed a one-year deal with the Steelers in August. He spent last season with the New York Jets, where he threw for 604 years with three touchdowns and two interceptions.

Vick is expected to start this Thursday night at home against the AFC North rival Baltimore Ravens.
