The third Saturday of every April marks the annual tradition of Record Store Day. Beginning in 2007, Record Store Day has been a day for record storeowners and music enthusiasts to celebrate a day honoring the record store culture.

NorCal punk band Green Day have been long time supporters of Record Store Day and, as it is a little less than a two months away, the band is participating this year by releasing 18 unreleased demo tracks in an album called Demolicious, Rolling Stone reported.

According to the group's announcement on Facebook, the tracks, which will be released April 19 through colored vinyl, CD and cassette, were previously recorded during their 2012 albums ¡Uno!¡Dos! and ¡Tré!.

Demolicious wouldn't be the first music exclusive the trio has contributed to the Record Store Day cause. Green Day re-released their first major record Dookie on vinyl in 2009 and in 2011 they released a 7-inch featuring their cover of Hüsker Dü's "Don't Want to Know if You Are Lonely."

Additionally, the following year, before the release of their trilogy set, the band gave patrons a test pressing of ¡Uno! at participating Record Store Day locations.

According to Record Store Day's website, "the one, the only: Chuck D" is this years ambassador and megaphone holder as he is tasked with telling the world "about the greatness of record stores."

Chuck D is of course known as the co-founder of famed and political hip-hop group Public Enemy, who were also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.

Previous Record Store Day Ambassador honors have went to Eagles of Death Metal's Jesse Hughes in 2009, Joshua Homme in 2010, Ozzy Osbourne in 2011, Iggy Pop in 2012 and Jack White in 2013.
