Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris haven't been seen together publicly in months, as the once whirlwind couple desperately tries to gain more privacy in their relationship.

Hollywood Life reports the two are still going strong, but have grown tired that every detail of their union seemingly becomes a matter of public record.

"The attention was getting to be too much for them," a source said. "They want to take the pressure off and not have everyone's eyes on them."

As part of the couple's attempt to rein things in, they will be thinking more about what to share on social media from here on out. Fans also shouldn't expect to witness any instances of PDA any time soon.

"They're trying to be more private when they meet up," a source added. "They realized it was a mistake to share so much on social media -- they just want some privacy back."

But there's no taking back all those recent reports about a possible marriage proposal. Harris was said to be on the verge of popping the question as early as this month and was recently spotted shopping for diamonds at a Beverly Hills store.

"He said he wanted something 'very special' for Taylor," a source said. "He was asking about the best cuts and eyed a ring that was $1.4 million. He was clearly eager to get the perfect rock, no matter the cost."

Several media outlets have recently reported the pair's busy schedules have prevented them from spending as much time together as they would like, but sources close to the couple insist that hasn't made a difference in their relationship.

"Taylor is madly in love and the reports of trouble in paradise is simply not true," a source added. "In Taylor's eyes, Calvin can do no wrong and as far as him having a bad temper, he's like a pussy cat with Taylor."
