It's hard to believe football fans, but we're already a quarter of the way through this NFL season. The next big date on the NFL calendar is the annual trade deadline. Some teams have to make deals because they are rebuilding, others because they have to clear up cap space. Some teams just have to improve their roster for a playoff run.

Here are five teams who should make a deal before the trade deadline.

1. Chicago Bears

This is an obvious one. The Bears are a huge mess and they are rebuilding. The Bears have already been making deals to get out of the cap hole they're in. Rumors have even been circulating that the Bears could trade running back Matt Forte before the deadline. That's not surprising considering Forte is in the final year of his contract, and they're not winning with him anyway. The Bears would be wise to trade him, and maybe even Alshon Jeffery, for future draft picks. Don't count on Jay Cutler going anywhere with that massive contract.

2. Detroit Lions

The Lions are the only 0-4 team in the NFL. They rank 30th in offense and 25th in defense. As far as the ground game, the Lions rank dead last in rushing yards for and 17th in rushing yards allowed. In other words, this team needs huge repairs. Calvin Johnson isn't the dominating force he once was, and Matthew Stafford just isn't an elite quarterback. The Lions need a whole new makeover from top to bottom on both sides of the ball sooner rather than later. This Lions squad has a long way to go to catch the Green Bay Packers, and that begins with rebuilding through the draft.

3. Miami Dolphins

Where do we even begin? This Dolphins team has one of the most talented rosters in the league, but it's not showing in the win column. It's hard to believe that the Dolphins upper management thinks this team can win considering they just fired coach Joe Philbin. Like the Bears, maybe it's just time to face reality and rebuild. Like the Bears, the Dolphins have talent, aren't winning, but they can get back some huge value if they decide to rebuild now. The Dolphins aren't going to overtake the New England Patriots in the AFC East, so stocking up on draft picks and saving cash would be wise.

4. Dallas Cowboys

The Cowboys aren't a bad team at all, but let's face it, they're hurting. Injuries to Sean Lee, Orlando Scandrick, Tony Romo and Dez Bryant have the Cowboys on a two game losing streak. Jerry Jones has to make a move so the surging New York Giants don't take control over the NFC East, and more than likely, he will. Don't expect another Herschel Walker megadeal, but the Cowboys have options. The Bears would make sense as an ideal trade partner considering they have a very talented running back and wide recover on the trade block. Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Roddy White has even been in trade rumors

5. Philadelphia Eagles

Is it possible that releasing DeSean Jackson and Evan Mathis while trading away Nick Foles and LeSean McCoy, and not re-signing Jeremy Maclin were mistakes? It appears so as head coach/general manager Chip Kelly is now in hot water with a 1-3 record. The Eagles have to improve their offensive line to give Sam Bradford more time to throw. The Eagles could also use a big upgrade at the wide receiver position. Reggie Wayne and Wes Welker are currently unrestricted free agents. Eagles could use a kicker as well. Who knows? We may even see the Eagles attempt to trade away DeMarco Murray considering they never use him properly anyway.

The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. EDT.
