"The Martian" star Matt Damon is unloading his Pacific Palisades property just after his buddy Ben Affleck lists his home in the area.

Damon, who got his Oscar with Affleck for Best Screenplay for "Good Will Hunting," is selling his Los Angeles home for about $20 million, Variety reported. The actor, who also appeared in critically acclaimed films like "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and "Invictus," is actually offering his Los Angeles dwelling place to buyers discreetly.

The almost 9,000-square-foot California estate with a Zen-inspired vibe features nine bathrooms and seven bedrooms, including two guest or staff bedrooms, noted the blog, citing available marketing materials during the time it was acquired. The A-list Hollywood celebrity bought the said home in 2013 for $15 million or nearly a million dollars shy of its listed price, Zillow noted. Thus, after just two years of ownership, he could profit $5 million from a successful sale on his asking price.

Other living spaces available in the three-level abode include a home office, a spacious gym, a formal living room, an elegant dining room, a family room, a kitchen with a dining area and a film viewing room.

Interior details of the "best house in Pacific Palisades," as described by Zillow, are highlighted by soaring vaulted ceilings as tall as 35 feet, "disappearing walls of glass," expansive living spaces, an open floor plan and a chic "floating staircase." Photos of the celebrity house are available on Curbed L.A., showing a stylish and sleek residence befitting a high-caliber actor.

The reported 0.68-acre estate displays lush courtyards of flat lawns and beautiful gardens. Aside from the natural accents, the outdoor experience is further boosted by a swimming pool, spa pavilion and koi water feature.

The bond between Damon and Affleck

Meanwhile, Damon's best friend Affleck is selling his Pacific Palisades home he owns with actress Jennifer Garner amid their divorce, noted a separate article of Variety.

The two actors must really enjoy each other's company or their interests really click to have bought properties in the same neighborhood.

Their agent, Patrick Whitesell, can attest that they really share the same passion about the industry, making the closeness of these buddies even tighter.

"These guys are both super interested in doing a range of things -- Matt's diversity as an actor and Ben going down the road of writing, acting and directing. They're all things that come from an artistic place, and they love the challenge of it. That spark is where they are very similar. And on a philanthropic level, they're both very, very committed," Whitesell told The Hollywood Reporter.
