The New York Mets and Kansas City Royals are each just two wins away from playing each other in the 2015 World Series.

The Mets eliminated the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLDS in five games, and now they are looking to take care of business against the Chicago Cubs. The Mets currently lead the National League Championship series 2-0 after getting a huge win over Jake Arrieta and the Cubs on Sunday night.

Both games of the NLCS have been in Queens, meaning Game 3, Game 4, and, if necessary, Game 5, will be played in Chicago. Daniel Murphy has been on fire this postseason with a .357 batting average and five home runs. Murphy has hit the ball out of the bark the last four consecutive games for the Mets. He is now tied with Mike Piazza for the most postseason home runs in franchise history.

This couldn't have worked out better for the Mets. Not only did they win both home games and beat the hottest pitcher in baseball, but they get their ace on the mound for Game 3. Jacob deGrom will get the start again Kyle Hendricks for a chance to take a commanding 3-0 series lead. deGrom was fantastic in the NLDS as he outdueled both Clayton Kershaw and Zack Greinke in winning efforts.

The Cubs are obviously in a 'must win' situation here. Losing Game 3 would pretty much seal the deal and end the series for the Cubs. The Mets took care of business at home, and now it's time for the Cubs to do the same. The Cubs now have to win four of the next five games to make it to their first World Series since 1945.

Game 3 will be played on Tuesday, Oct. 20 in the windy city at Wrigley Field 8 p.m. EDT on TBS.

We have an identical situation over in the American League. The Kansas City Royals have jumped out to a quick 2-0 series lead at home over the Toronto Blue Jays. The Royals are the defending American League champions, so this isn't very surprising.

Johnny Cueto pitched a gem in Game 5 of the ALDS against the Houston Astros. Cueto will be starting for the Royals in Game 3 against Marcus Stroman. Because the AL won the annual All-Star game this season, that means that whoever wins this series will automatically have home-field advantage in the World Series.

The Blue Jays offense has to get going. They were by far the most successful offense in the league during the regular season. The Blue Jays led the league in hits, home runs, runs scored, and let's not forget about bat flips. So far the Blue Jays offense has registered just three runs in the first two games. It's not panic time just yet. Let's keep in mind that the Blue Jays were down 0-2 against the Texas Rangers in the ALDS, but then rallied to win the next three games.

Game 3 will be played on Monday, Oct.19 at 8 p.m. EDT. That game will be played at the Rogers Centre in Toronto, Canada.

Home teams are a combined 4-0 so far in the championship series. No matter what happens or which teams advance, we will get a World Series matchup that has never taken place before.
