Johnny Manziel made headlines in week two of the NFL Season for his performance against the Tennessee Titans as he completed eight of 15 passes for 172 yards and two touchdowns in the 28-14 win. Manziel is on the headlines again, but for the wrong reasons.

The Cleveland Browns backup quarterback was pulled over by Avon police after a domestic incident with his girlfriend, Colleen Elizabeth Crowley, at the Interstate 90 last Oct. 12, per News Net5. The couple admitted that they were having an argument and both had been drinking.

The report noted that the police did not press any charges as the two are not intoxicated enough to be charged. Crowley told police that Manziel pushed her head into a window and she was concerned with her safety, but the police only saw an abrasion on her arm. It was later determined to be from the quarterback's attempt to keep her girlfriend from getting out of a moving vehicle.

"Colleen and I got into a dumb public argument on the way home Monday afternoon. It was embarrassing but not serious and when we talked to the police and they realized everything was alright and I was sober, we went home together and everything is fine," Manziel said on Twitter as quoted by Bleacher Report.

The Browns released a statement saying that they are aware of the situation and has conversations with Manziel, but it would remain private. Cleveland coach, Mike Pettine said on ESPN that the NFL is investigating the incident.

"It's a standard procedure to look into any incident that is a potential violation of our personal conduct policy," an NFL representative told Cleveland.com. The 2012 Heisman Trophy winner could face suspension or a fine from the league under the personal conduct policy or the substance abuse program.

The 22-year-old quarterback checked himself into a rehabilitation center for the treatment of alcohol addiction last February, per ESPN. He left the facility after 10 weeks and seems to be doing better until the recent incident with his girlfriend.

Coach Pettine and his teammates are very supportive of Manziel. "We're not saying that he has it all figured out. It's a process, and we're supporting him through it," the coach told ESPN.

"Can't turn your back on him. We're not going to turn our back on him. We're going to support him," linebacker Karlos Dansby added.

ESPN added that starting quarterback Josh McCown has talked with Manziel and he has given the young QB some advice. McCown is currently 1-4 this season but with his backup having problems off the field, he should continue to start for Cleveland.
