Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel was involved in another off-field incident and reports revealed that some team officials want the sophomore QB to end his relationship with his girlfriend.

Manziel was questioned by police after allegedly driving at a high rate of speed earlier this month. The Browns QB was with her girlfriend Colleen Crowley, who reportedly told the police that Manziel hit her and pushed her face on to the glass of the car, ESPN reported.

Manziel denied the allegations and Crowley did not file charges against the former Texas A&M standout, but a dash-cam video revealed that Crowley feared for her life during the incident. It is still unknown, though, whether or not Manziel purposely hurt Crowley or he was just trying to prevent her from exiting the car like what he is claiming.

The Browns did not discipline Manziel for the incident and kept his role as backup to starting quarterback Josh McCown, but CBS Sports reported that top officials want the 22-year-old quarterback to split with his girlfriend.

"There have been concerns about the sometimes turbulent nature of that relationship within the Browns hierarchy, sources said, and some have been hoping there would be separation for quite some time," CBS Sports reported. "Crowley is a college student who has been living with Manziel this season."

Manziel, who was selected 22nd during the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, had a rocky rookie season on and off the field. During the offseason, the Texas native underwent rehab in the hope of becoming a better player and teammate.

He showed signs of improvements, but the CBS report indicated that troubles started again after Manziel was sent back to the bench in favor of McCown. Manziel started during their 24-6 win over the Houston Texans, but was utilized as a backup again after McCown recovered from his injury.

"I think he thought he got the job back," a team source told CBS Sports. "So you had a bad feeling something might be coming and he might slip. I'm not sure he's wired to be a backup and he had really won people over, but I can't say it's a surprise that something like this happened after he ended up back on the bench."

Browns general manager Ray Farmer has already confirmed that they will cannot suspend Manziel. McCown is considered day-to-day, which could give Manziel another opportunity to start.

However, New York Post reported that coach Mike Pettine declined to confirm whether or not Manziel will start if McCown will not be available against the Arizona Cardinals on Monday.
