The trailer for the fourth episode of "Reign" has been released, and it looks like the show may be venturing into "Game of Thrones" territory, as Mary (Adelaide Kane) considers help from a witch to save her dying husband.

Last week, Latin Post reported that the days of ailing King Francis (Toby Regbo) were likely numbered. Those predictions may have been a little off, as he managed to survive the episode. Still, King Antoine (Ben Aldridge) caught wind of the king's illness, and things aren't looking too great for Francis.

The promo clip for next week's episode, "The Price," shows Francis pale and bedridden. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and Mary is willing to do whatever it takes to save her lover, even turning to magic.

Charles (Spencer MacPherson) seeks the help of a witch to save the king of France. When he is warned that the price could involve another's life, Mary says she is more than willing to give her own.

The first season of "Game of Thrones" showed the potential disastrous result of trying to use magic to save a loved one. Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) inadvertently sacrifices her unborn child's life to save her husband's (Jason Momoa), but he is revived in a mindless, vegetative state.

Of course, she was dealing with a vengeful witch, but the point is that these things rarely end up well.

Regardless, it may be pointless for Mary to try save her husband. Viewers with knowledge of French history know that Francis ultimately succumbed to his illness. The show has strayed from reality before, but not even the producers are willing to change the inevitable.

"We definitely take liberties with history but there is an element of history that we felt beholden to," showrunner Laurie McCarthy said to EW. "The pilot promises his death, it foretells it and it promises that it's going to be a tragic love story."

"Reign" will return on Nov. 6 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW. Watch the preview below!
