Pretty much everyone left on "Dancing with the Stars" has a shot at the coveted Mirror Ball trophy, so any exit was sure to be emotional for the celebrities and the fans. In the latest episode, fan-favorite Andy Grammer gets booted out of the competition with his partner Allison Holker, leaving six pairs standing in season 21.

The latest episode featured two rounds of dancing from the couples: an individual routine and a dance-off between two pairs, according to Wall Street Journal.

The individual dances revolved around the theme of personal icons, and first dancer Carlos PenaVega chose Marc Anthony as the person who influenced him the most. He made a statement dancing the salsa with pro partner Witney Carson. The two were at ease and confident on the dance floor, earning them a total of 27 points from the judges.

Next up was Alek Skarlatos, who drew a contemporary routine set to "Holding Out for a Hero," paying tribute to his personal hero "American Sniper" subject Chris Kyle. The dance with pro Lindsay Arnold capitalized on Skarlatos' strength with plenty of impressive lifts. Their efforts got them 25 points from the judges.

Andy Grammer and Allison Holker danced to a sweet Viennese waltz set to "Isn't She Lovely" dedicated to his mother. The routine moved Grammer to tears, but ultimately fell short of technique with the judges, so the pair only earned 22 points.

Alexa PenaVega went in a different direction, telling the story of David and Goliath through an Argentine tango with partner Mark Ballas. Although the pair started off strong, wobbly footwork pulled their score down to only 25 points.

Coming off a relatively weak performance last week, Nick Carter stole the show with a contemporary dance to "Can't Help Falling In Love" with pro Sharna Burgess. The routine told the tumultuous and loving story of Carter and wife Lauren. The powerful choreography moved the judges, but also wowed them from a dance perspective, and they were rewarded with a perfect score and immunity.

Even more rewarding for the real-life couple, they were surprised with the revelation that they're having a baby boy.

In a statement to E! Online, Carter said, "My wife and I are happy to personally announce that we are pregnant. It has been our dream to have a family together and we cannot wait to welcome our first child into the world."

Two other strong performances followed with Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough's foxtrot as a tribute to Grace Kelly, and Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy's paso doble to "Born This Way" for Braxton's sister Toni. Both raked in 28 points from the judges.

Do you think Grammer and Holker deserved to go home?
