Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Ricardo Lockette was already discharged from the hospital.

Lockette got a high hit from Dallas Cowboys' safety Jeff Heath during their Nov.1 game, NFL.com reported. The whole stadium was shocked to see the 29-year-old receiver appeared motionless on the field for a few minutes. Lockette was then reportedly carried out of the football field.

Hawks head coach Pete Carroll relayed that medical tests were performed on Lockette in Texas, Seattle Times informed.

The Georgia-born receiver has posted some messages on his Twitter account, indicating he is out of danger.

He also had an earlier Twitter post extending his gratitude to his family, fans, teammates and coaches for supporting and praying for him this critical time. He even shared that he can't wait to go back on the field with the Hawks.

The Seahawks' official website announced that Lockette's neck surgery at the Baylor Medical Center in Dallas was successful, citing doctors of the medical facility, who knew about the results.

Hawks' Reactions

Seahawks linebacker Mike Morgan was very much scared seeing Lockette lying unconscious, the Times informed. He even thought that Heath deserved a penalty for that kind of blow.

"When you see your brother down like that, all you can do is think about him and pray for him...Did they call a penalty on it? Yeah, it was a dirty play. That guy should definitely have to pay for that. It doesn't belong in football," Morgan said.

Hawks' defensive end Michael Bennett reportedly called the hit a "classless play."

Heath's Side

The Cowboys' safety contacted the injured player by asking Lockette's number from his teammate, receiver Brice Butler, The Dallas Morning News noted. Butler is one of Lockette's friends in NFL.

Heath stated that he commended Lockette for being a great player, who is "tenacious and really aggressive" and that he has a high regard for him. He also sent his support on his fast recovery.

Regarding the hit, he told Lockette that it was not his intention to hurt him.

"Just wish him a speedy recovery and told him and I think he knows, but I just told him my intention wasn't to injure him and I hated the outcome of the play," Heath said.

The Dallas' safety also stated that he is "not going to apologize for playing hard." He maintained that he will not apologize for the hit, but he sure did not like the "outcome of the hit."
