The Walking Dead has just two more episodes left in its fourth season. Fans are dying to know what season 4 has left to reveal, and luckily Robert Kirkman, comic book creator and AMC show writer and executive producer, is willing to tease some details.

Kirkman participated in a Reddit AMA last week where he revealed that season 4's conclusion is "savage."

"Honestly ... people are going to be talking about this one," he said. "The cliffhanger at the end of Season 4 will make the wait between Seasons 4 and 5 the hardest wait we've ever had. ENJOY!"

What about Beth, played by Emily Kinney? Will she ever make it out of the kidnapping that occurred in Alone?

"We will see again ... eventually," Kirkman teased.

According to the creator, however, no one is safe from dying off The Walking Dead, not even fans' favorite characters.

"In my opinion, I feel like characters ripen like fruit," he explained. "So while I wouldn't say the more popular a character is the more likely they are to die, they do have to reach a certain level of popularity before they've 'earned' the death. No character is too popular to die. (Suck it, [Daryl Dixon actor Norman] Reedus!)"

But surely Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, is essential to the series?

"ABSOLUTELY NOT," Kirkman responded. "Although when I look in Andrew Lincoln's piercing blue eyes, I feel safe."

Kirkman also explained how having various showrunners, something that has been quite publicized, has resulted in what he considers the best season in the AMC show's history.

"Scott Gimple is an absolute rock star," he said. "I think that looking back at Season 4 as a whole, it is by far our strongest season ... Scott's been integral to the show since he came on board for Season 2 and honestly knows more about this world than I do. (And he definitely remembers the ins and outs of the comic book way better than me)."

Once season 4 ends, however, fans will have something to hold them over until season 5 in the form of upcoming novels.

"There will be more novels," Kirkman explained. "Jay Bonansinga is killing it with those books, and I'm really excited about doing more. Stay tuned to the news over at thewalkingdead.com."

The next episode, "Us," premieres tonight at 9/8c on AMC. Viewers can watch the latest episodes on AMC.com using their cable provider login.
