"Assassin's Creed Comet", the fifth installment of the game series, will take place in America, Cinemablend reported. Specifically, New York will be one of the main cities that players will roam around in.

Like what its title suggests, the new game will be set in 1758, the same year when the Halley's Comet was first spotted. The French game site GameBlog, as translated on Reddit, speculated that the comet in the game would play an important factor in explaining the mystery behind the First Civilization featured in all the series.

The game's main character is named Shay, an English pirate cruising along the Atlantic Ocean of the United States. It will open with Shay betraying his captain, Adewale. Fans of the game would remember this captain as the first mate of Edward Kenway in "Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag". He is also the main character in the Freedom Cry DLC.

According to Kotaku, aside from Adewale, Kenway will also be making an appearance in "Comet" along with other prominent characters from the previous games of the series. And, surprisingly, Shay is a member of the Templars, an order that has been portrayed as the main antagonist in previous "Assassin's Creed" games.

"Comet" will be released alongside "Assassin's Creed: Unity" which has been confirmed to debut in the fall of this year. It was previously reported that the location for "Unity" will be set in 18th-century Paris, particularly during the French revolution, as suggested by the leaked images from the game. Like "Unity", "Comet" will also feature parkour actions in the controls.

"Unity" will be released next-gen consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. On the other hand, only PlasyStation 3 and Xbox 360 gamers can get their hands on "Comet". There are no reports yet if either game will make its way to the Wii U platform.
