Chelsea are off to a disappointing start in the 2015-16 English Premier League, which is creating speculation that club manager Jose Mourinho could be fired soon.

Chelsea won the Premier League title last season, but they have yet to get into their rhythm this season. The Blues are currently 16th in the Premier League standings after 12 matches with just 11 points from three wins, two draws and seven defeats.

But while the Blues are not living up to expectations this season, Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo told Daily Telegraph that Mourinho's job is safe because he still enjoys the trust of club owner Roman Abramovich. Emenalo, who has a close relationship with Abramovich, said that the owner is not close to pushing the panic button.

"The statement from the owner and from the board comes from a belief that we are in a position to trust a manager who has delivered so much," Emenalo said. "We are in a position to trust a group of players who have delivered in the last couple of seasons. We are in a position to see that there is light at the end of the tunnel."

Emenalo, who is a former Nigeria international, also said that they are lucky to have an owner like Abramovich, who is and will continue to be invested in the club -- both financially and emotionally.

Mourinho Not Planning To Make Moves in January?

Meanwhile, Chelsea are also being linked to possible moves in the January transfer window. ESPN previously reported that the Blues are eyeing Javier Hernandez and Paco Alcacer to get additional options aside from misfiring strikers Diego Costa and Radamel Falcao.

However, Mourinho denied again that he is planning to tweak their roster in the upcoming transfer window, expressing confidence that they could turn things around with the players that they currently have.

"I will not ask any change to the board for January. I am happy with my players, I trust the players," Mourinho said in a news conference via ESPN FC. "I don't need to clean the dressing room, like I heard was written somewhere. And I don't need to ask the club to spend money in January. We put ourselves in a great situation being champions."

Chelsea and Mourinho is expected to get a big boost, as reports also revealed that goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois will make his return from a long layoff. The 23-year-old, who sustained a torn meniscus in his right knee in September, could return to action anytime in December.
