Leicester City reclaimed the top spot, while Arsenal move to second place in the 2015-16 English Premier League standings after their respective Week 16 matches during the weekend.

Leicester City 3 - 0 Swansea City

Leicester City moved back to the top of the table after scoring a masterful 3-0 win against Swansea City in front of more than 20,000 fans at Liberty Stadium on Saturday.

Riyad Mahrez had a huge night for Leicester, as he registered a hat-trick to give his team their ninth win this season against just one defeat and five draws. Mahrez scored goals in the fifth, 22nd and 67th minute of the match.

Before the game started, all eyes were set on Jamie Vardy, who is aiming to match Jimmy Dunne's all-time Football League record of having at least a goal in 12 consecutive matches. However, Vardy, who broke Ruud van Niesteelroy's Premiere League record after netting goals in his last 11 games, failed to make history on Saturday.

But while he failed to match the all-time Football League record, Vardy played huge roles in Mahrez's three goals. Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri also had nothing but praises for Vardy.

"Good match, good performance, three goals, many chances and a clean sheet. That's more important than being top," Ranieri said. "Vardy didn't score, but he played for the team and the team is the leader. Great for our fans, who travelled a long way."

Arsenal 3 - 1 Sunderland

Meanwhile, Arsenal moved to second spot after running away with a 3-1 victory against visiting club Sunderland on Saturday at Emirates Stadium.

Joel Campbell opened the scoring with a strike from the left of the box off a through ball from Mesut Özil  in the 33rd minute of the match before Olivier Giroud had an own goal before the half. Giroud made up for his mistake with a goal in the 63rd minute, while Aaron Ramsey sealed the win with a goal in extra time.

The Gunners now have 30 points in 15 matches from nine wins, three defeats and three draws.
