After news of Mariah Carey and Australian billionaire James Packer’s engagement surfaced, the couple reportedly moved into a new luxurious mansion.

EOnline cited that before they transferred to their new luxury residence, Carey already moved in with Packer but still kept her home. The two have been dating for six months before deciding to get married. The couple has been enjoying a luxurious time together, vacationing in Ibiza, Malibu and other parts of the globe in style.

Mirror reported that Carey and Packer rented a huge mansion in The Oaks, a double gated community in Calabasas, California. The house spans 18,000 square feet and costs $250,000 a month on a lease with an option to purchase contract.

In another report by EOnline, a number of famous people are also living in the same exclusive community such as Los Angeles Clippers star Chris Paul and the Kardashians. The house has a gym, a home movie theater and sauna while the entire property covers one acre with beautiful views of California.

The house was built over five years because of the huge attention given to each detail. It was also the first time that the palatial property was placed on the market. One source shared the Emil Hartoonian from The Agency was the broker for Carey.

Based on the same EOnline report, Carey only wanted to rent the place because she was eyeing on property within a family friendly community that would be safe for her 4-year-old twins with estranged husband Nick Cannon.

Mirror cited that Carey is still legally married to Cannon while Packer is not yet divorced from estranged wife Erica. However, the two have already been planning a massive wedding in Europe in the summer of 2016.

“Mariah wants the wedding to be this coming summer and she said she would really love it if they could get married where they first fell in love, in the Mediterranean region,” one source said.

“She wants this wedding to be the biggest and most expensive wedding that the world has ever seen," an insider stated.

EOnline revealed that Carey and Cannon are on friendly terms.

Cannon actually congratulated Carey and Packer after they got engaged. The host and singer particularly pointed out Carey's 35-carat diamond engagement ring. Cannon's children reportedly like Packer, who treats them well, so Carey's ex is happy.

PR Newswire wrote that in the meantime, fans can look forward to Carey’s Las Vegas residency, “MARIAH #1 TO INFINITY,” at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
