Queen Elsa, Anna and other characters of "Frozen" will officially be performing live on stage by spring of 2018, said Disney, Tuesday, Feb. 9. Frozen's stage musical adaption will be the ninth musical Disney has brought to Broadway.

"Frozen is slated for Broadway spring 2018 following a pre-Broadway engagement summer 2017," as posted by the official Twitter account of the blockbuster film.

Most of the people behind the making of the film have signed to do the same task for the musical. Some of them are Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez who were assigned to recreate the songs played for the movie. Jennifer Lee, the movie's writer and co-director, will still direct the play.

Several award-winning personalities will also help bring Frozen characters to life. Award winning directors Alex Timbers and Andrew Jackson will be the director. Peter Darling, who was recognized for his work on "Matilda the Musical" and "Billy Elliot" will be in charge with the musical's choreography. The stage's setting, lighting and costume designs, on the other hand, will be headed by Natasha Katz and Bob Crowley, who has won seven Tony Awards for Disney shows including "Mary Poppins" and "Aida."

As posted by New York Times, starting summer of 2017, the company will hold a tryout regarding the Frozen's musical adaption which will be held at a venue outside New York.

Inspired by Han's Christian Andersen's story "The Snow Queen," the story of Frozen revolves around Elsa, the princess of Arendelle who later on became its Queen, and her bubbly and loving sister Anna. Elsa was under a curse that gave her the ability to generate and control ice. Their journey started when her secret was exposed to town folks that they pushed her away out from her kingdom. The morale of the movie showed that true love isn't just bound to lovers but also to family as well.

Frozen became 2013's highest-grossing animated feature in the history of the world's entertainment industry. The movie garnered a total earning of about $400 million in the United States and $1.3 billion worldwide. The movie also received an Oscar Awards for "best animated feature" and "best original song" for "Let It Go" which was so loved not just by children but also by grown-ups around the world.

Meanwhile, information regarding the lead roles and dates for the production are yet to be announced. Disney currently has two shows running on Broadway, "Aladdin" and "The Lion King."
